Nikki Haley served under the Donald Trump administration as ambassador to the United Nations.  She was one of Trump's most trusted advisors.  Both of these strong willed politicians announced their candidacy to run for President int he 2024 election and will face off during the primaries.
Donald Trump
Donald Trump was the 45th President of the United States, but is also well known as a businessman and TV personality.  His career started when he graduated from the Wharton School of Business and became president of his father’s real estate company.  Trump expanded the family business to include buying and renovating skyscrapers, primarily in New York City, casinos and golf courses.  He had many side ventures, primarily by licensing his name to products such as steaks, cologne and bottled water.  Throughout his business career, he has had many ups and downs, including 6 bankruptcies and involvement in countless lawsuits and federal/state legal actions.  His has written several bestselling books on his business success.  He also appeared on several seasons of the successful TV show, The Apprentice.  He is most well known for being the U.S. President from 2017-2021.  His presidency was characterized by much polarization with vocal supporters and non-supporters.  During his presidency, he was impeached twice and he was acquitted in both trials. Trump remains active in politics and provided over 200 endorsements since he left office.

Nikki Haley is best known for for serving as the United States Ambassador to the United Nations during the Trump administration and as the 116th Governor of South Carolina from 2011 to 2017.  She is also a prominent businesswoman.

She was born in 1972 to Indian immigrant parents, She was the first Indian person to serve as Governor in the United States. She worked in business before becoming a politician. 

Her first political position was as a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives for six years before she became governor of the state.  Her achievements as governor included Haley economic growth and job creation. She also gained national attention for leading in times of natural disasters, including Hurricane Matthew in 2016 and the Charleston church shooting in 2015.

As U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Haley was known to be outspoken and taking strong stances on issues like  human rights, peacekeeping, and North Korea's nuclear program. 

Haley also wrote two books, "Can't Is Not an Option: My American Story" and "With All Due Respect: Defending America with Grit and Grace” in which she shares her views as a female immigrant politician, foreign affairs and human rights.  In February 2023, she announced her candidacy to run for President.
