Fortnite
Fortnite is a super popular online video game released in 2017. There are three different game modes: Fortnite: Save The World, which is a tower-defense and survival game played in teams of 4; Fortnite Battle Royale in which 100 players fight for the last person standing; and Fortnite Creative where players can create battle arenas and worlds. From the beginning it was a phenomenon, drawing in 125 million players in less than a year.  Through 2020, it has generated $9 billion in sales.  Each version of the game has its own set of rules and objectives.  Battle Royale and Creative are both free to play, while Save The World has a fee.  It has won many awards over the years from gaming sites and media.  It has been criticized for its violence and inappropriateness for kids and has been the subject of several controversies.  There have been several hated updates, such as the addition of Mechs and planes.  The makers of the game have been sued for copyright infringement for some of its characters and elements. There have been cases of accounts being hacked which the developers were slow to respond to.  It continues to be popular: as of 2020, there are 80.4 million monthly users with up to 4 million concurrent players.
Pac-Man
Pac-Man is one of the original and most successful arcade games.  Released in 1980, it has generated $14 billion as of 2016. It’s an action game, in which the Pac-Man character is chased around a maze with the goal to eat all the dots in the maze.  A level is complete when all the dots are eaten.  At the same time, the player must avoid being killed by 4 ghosts that chase him: Blinky (red), Pinky (pink), Inky (cyan), and Clyde (orange). If Pac-Man is caught by one of the ghosts, the player loses a life and starts the level over.

The game is over when there are no more lives.  Throughout the maze are power pellets that, when eaten, cause the ghosts to turn blue and run away from Pac-Man.  If Pac-Man eats a blue ghost, it will transport to the center of the maze and eventually return to normal and pursue Pac-Man.  Once enough dots are eaten, a bonus point fruit will appear which Pac-Man can eat.  On the left and right side of the maze is a transporter tunnel that allows Pac-Man or the ghosts to go to the other side of the maze.  It has spurned several spin-off games, like Ms. Pac Man plus merchandise, films and songs.
