Adam SandlerAdam Richard Sandler, was born on September 9th, 1966 in Brooklyn, New York, New York. Sandler is a comedian, actor, and producer, initially made news as a Saturday Night Live cast member in the 1990s. With his "man-child" attitude and traditional musical comedy bits like "The Chanukah Song," he was an immediate favorite.
Following his departure from SNL, Sandler emerged as a Hollywood A-list star, leading a string of classic comedies that helped define a generation. These movies, such as Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, The Waterboy, and Big Daddy, became a phenomenon in popular culture, both showing his signature mix of slapstick humor and heartwarming characters. He also went on to start his own production company, Happy Madison Productions, which has been responsible for producing much of his work and springboards for the careers of many of his friends and contemporaries. While often associated with slapstick humor, Sandler has also won positive notices for his dramatic work, showing much range in films like Paul Thomas Anderson's Punch-Drunk Love and the Safdie brothers' existential thriller Uncut Gems, for which he was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award.
