His first film role was in 1992 in the film A Boy’s Life, co-starring with Robert DeNiro. At the age of 19, he became one of the youngest nominees for an Academy Award for his role as a disabled boy in What’s Eating Gilbert Grape? He then went on to star in a number of acclaimed films, including The Basketball Diaries and Romeo + Juliet.
He gained worldwide superstar fame in 1997, starring in Titanic, which was the highest grossing film at the time, eventually earning $2.1 billion worldwide. The resulting attention from teenage girls and young women launched what was known as “Leo-mania”. He’s earned 6 Academy Award nominations in his career and 1 win for best actor in the 2016 movie The Revenant. Gwyneth PaltrowGwyneth Paltrow was born in Los Angeles in 1972 and is the daughter of Hollywood stars, actress Blythe Danner and director Bruce Paltrow. She won an Emmy in 2011 for her guest appearance on the TV show “Glee”. In 2004, after becoming a mother, Paltrow significantly slowed down her acting career, but she launched other ventures. She has seen success as the founder of her own company, Goop, which offers products for wellness and beauty. It is a multi-million dollar company but has experienced some controversy. The company paid a settlement for unsubstantiated claims about health benefits of one of its products and has been criticized for their products’ high costs. Paltrow has also written several healthy living cook books. She is also known for her philanthropy, supporting several causes that are important to her.
