Seinfeld
Seinfeld is a TV comedy series that ran from 1989-1998 over 5 seasons and 180 episodes. It is one of the most popular shows in history and one of the most successful syndicated shows ever. Created by Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld, it’s based on Seinfeld's own life and he plays a fictional version of himself in the show.
The show revolves around Seinfeld and his group of friends based in New York City. The other protagonists are George Costanza (played by Jason Alexander), Elaine (played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus) and Kramer (played by Michael Richards). It is famous for being a show “about nothing” and episodes typically featured multiple storylines with the trials and tribulations of the four friends. Jerry is a celebrity comedian whose apartment is the center of the friends' activities. Elaine is Jerry’s ex-girlfriend who is uncomfortably honest and sarcastic. George is Jerry’s best friend and is often depicted as a loser and underachiever. Kramer is Jerry’s quirky slacker neighbor who is always involved in wacky schemes.
The show has created many popular quotes and catchphrases such as “Maybe the dingo ate your baby”, “Master of my own domain”, “Yada, Yada, Yada”, “Not that there’s anything wrong with that”, “No soup for you’, “spongeworthy” and “Festivus" for the rest of us”.
