The Mandalorian is set in the Star Wars universe, and was created by Jon Favreau. It first appeared in 2019 and quickly became a hit and favorite among fans, The show features a bounty hunter known as The Mandalorian. He is hired to hunt down a creature simply known as The Child, who turns out to be the same species as Yoda from the original Star Wars films. He feels an instant bond with The Child and pledges to himself to protect him at all costs. The Mandalorian combines classic Star Wars components along with new ideas, including a mix of alien creatures, space battles, and action sequences. It has been praised for its depth of character development and emotions, with a particular focus on the relationship between The Mandalorian and The Child. Its beautiful visuals also make the series stand out and give it a fresh look.

Andor, or Star Wars: Andor, is a Disney+ sci-fi action limited series made by Tony Gilroy. The story is a prequel to the original Star Wars film (1977). The cast of the series includes Diego Luna, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Genevieve O'Reilly, Varada Sethu, Denise Gough, Elizabeth Dulau, Faye Marsay, Fiona Shaw, and Kyle Soller. Executive Producers include Sanne Wohlenberg, Toby Haynes, Kathleen Kennedy, Tony Gilroy, Michelle Rejwan, and Diego Luna. There is currently one season, with twelve episodes. Each episode has a running time of about 37-58 minutes. The series is about Cassian Andor, a thief who joins the Rebellion during the Galactic Empire. Andor was first released on September 21st, 2022, with three episodes. New episodes were released every week until about mid November. Filming started in November of 2020 at the Pinewood Studios in London, as well as throughout the UK. The series filming wrapped in September of the following year. The second season of the series is currently being filmed in London, and is set to lead into events that occur in Rogue One. According to Whip Media, a "viewership tracking app," the series was the most streamed television series across all platforms throughout the 25th of September to the 11th of November in 2022. The Guardian said the series was the "best Star Wars show since the Mandalorian." Andor also was featured in the top ten "Best of 2022" lists for USA Today, Empire, Vulture, and many more publications.
