Tyler PerryTyler Perry is a very successful American actor, director, producer, and screenwriter. He's best known for creating films, TV shows, and plays that often speak about faith, family, and community, especially the African American community. Tyler Perry was born on September 14, 1969, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He first became popular with his stage productions, particularly those featuring his favorite character Madea, a fiery, no-nonsense grandmother. Madea was a huge success and was later adapted to film in movies like Diary of a Mad Black Woman and Madea's Family Reunion. Tyler Perry has amassed an entertainment fortune over the years. He has written, directed, and produced a string of films and shows, such as popular TV shows like Tyler Perry's House of Payne and The Haves and the Have Nots. He even opened his own Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, which is among the largest film studios in the nation. Perry has been so active in recent years. He directed and produced the highly anticipated movie Mea Culpa, which was released early in 2024. He also still oversees his various TV productions and is known to give a lot of opportunities to Black actors and filmmakers in Hollywood. His work speaks to an enormous audience because of its strong messages and true-to-life characters.
DavisViola Davis is an American born actress and producer. Her awards include an Academy Award, an Emmy and 2 Tonys, making her the first African-American to win the “Triple Crown of Acting”. Her Davis received her fourth Oscar nomination for her role in the 2020 film Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. The NY Times has ranked her as the 9th greatest actor of the 21st Century and she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2020. Time named her one of the most 100 influential people in the world in both 2012 and 2017.

In 2008, she earned an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role as a troubled mother in the film Doubt. She then took home a Tony award for Best Actress for her portrayal of Rose Maxson in the Broadway show Fences. She garnered her second Academy Award nomination for the film The Help in 2011.
